The Importance of Appropriate Dosing

The maximum recommended dose of AMPYRA® (dalfampridine) Extended Release Tablets is one 10 mg tablet twice daily, taken approximately 12 hours apart, and should not be exceeded.5

  • No additional benefit was demonstrated at doses greater than 10 mg twice daily.5
  • The risk of seizures increases with increasing AMPYRA doses.5
  • Adverse reactions and discontinuations because of adverse reactions were more frequent at higher doses.5
  • Patients should not take more than 2 tablets of AMPYRA in a 24-hour period.
    • Patients should not take double or extra doses if a dose is missed.5
  • Tablets should only be taken whole; do not divide, crush, chew, or dissolve.5
  • AMPYRA can be taken with or without food.5
  • In clinical trials, therapeutic response was generally observed within 6 weeks.6,15
